“I remember playing this with my sister when I was a kid. We would sit on the carpet of our apartment in the summer trying to beat each level. I think we only got to like the fifth or sixth before we got stuck. I remember it being a really hard game, and my mom would come to try and help us, but she would have more trouble than we did, and it was really funny. There was this one level towards the beginning where Crash was riding a warthog and you had to control it without slowing down, and at the very end of the level there was this drum you had to jump on top of to bounce you over a pit, and right across was the end of the level, but the speed you had to maneuver to hit that jump was so hard that we must have played it at least a hundred times. We finally got past it, but then could never beat the next level after. It wasn't until the re-release a few years ago that I finally went and beat the entire game. But even so, those memories of frustration are actually really nice and it was a good bonding time for me and my sister.”
