International Conference on Alternative Perspectives on Viet Nam
During the fall semester of 1965, the International Conference on Alternative Perspectives on Viet Nam conference was held at the University of Michigan. From September 14 - 18, 1965, some forty scholars, theologians, writers, and intellectuals from the United States, Asia, Europe, and Africa met and divided into four Study Groups to discuss “alternative conceptions which might result in reasonable and constructive policies to achieve a peaceful and humane end to the war in Viet Nam.” Their final presentations on their findings were held in Rackham Lecture Hall and were open to the public.
