Thursday 5
Susan Raffo: Issues of Privacy in
America: Event is Co-Sponsored
by the Ann Arbor Public Library.
How much does it cost to protect
your privates?. What happens
when you put together Bush’s war
on Iraq, the cultural battle over the
sexual body, terrorism, queerness,
reality TV, a bevy of billionaires,
and a small white baby’s body into
the same fifty minute conversation? Susan Raffo will attempt to
weave together all of the above
into something that makes you
leave the room feeling a little more
hopeful about our collective ability
to do more than just get rid of
George W. Bush. This event will
take place in the Downtown
Library's lower level MultiPurpose Room from 7:00 to 8:30
p.m. Susan is the editor of the 1997
book Queerly Classed: Gay Men
and Lesbians Write About Class
and will sign copies of this book
after the program. Books will be on
sale at the event, courtesy of
Common Language Bookstore.
The Downtown Library is located
at 343 S. Fifth Avenue in Ann Arbor. For more information, contact
