Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
The Sigma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity was chartered on February 22, 1922 at the University of Michigan.
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc is a collegiate Greek-letter fraternity with a predominantly African-American membership. Since the fraternity's founding on January 5, 1911 at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, the fraternity has never limited membership based on color, creed or national origin. The fraternity has over 150,000 members with 721 undergraduate and alumni chapters in every state of the United States, and international chapters in the United Kingdom, Germany, Korea, Japan, United States Virgin Islands, Nigeria and South Africa. The Sigma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc was founded on February 22, 1922 at the campus of the University of Michigan. Principal members in the founding of the Sigma Chapter are Hurlong Scott, Rudolph T. Ashe and George R. Dorsey (Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., n.d.).
