A People’s Archive of Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of Michigan

A People’s Archive of Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of Michigan is a collaborative digital archive designed to explore the history of culturally-based and historically marginalized Greek life at UofM through both what has been preserved and what has been overlooked. This site brings together photographs, documents, and other materials found in UofM’s Bentley Archival Library. As you navigate through each organization, you will notice where records are abundant, where they are missing, and ultimately how these patterns reveal larger stories about community and the power of records. This archive is an ongoing project, and we invite organizations and community members to contribute additional materials or share reflections. Our goal is not to speak for any group but to create space where history can be explored, questioned, and expanded together.
