Isabella Buzynski
Isabella is a first-year Masters student at the University of Michigan School of Information, with a concentration in archives, library science, and preservation. She received a BA in History from the University of Michigan in 2021. She has been interacting with archives since she was an undergraduate freshman, and is currently working at the Fine Arts Library at UM. Her involvement with this archive primarily includes researching the history of LGBTQ+ print culture in the Midwest, locating items for inclusion in the archive, and creating descriptive records.
Ally Sierra
Ally is a second-year Masters student at the University of Michigan School of Information, with a concentration in user experience design and research. She received a BA in Communication and Media from the University of Michigan School of Literature, Science, and the Arts in 2020. Her interest in communication technologies and passion for creative problem-solving led to her pursuing a Masters degree in Information Science. She is currently working as a Design Consultant at the Center for Socially Engaged Design at the University of Michigan College of Engineering. Her involvement with this archive includes locating items for inclusion in the archive and creating descriptive records.
Alexis Herrera
Alexis is a first-year Masters student at the University of Michigan School of Information. He is a researcher and programmer interested in media studies, visual culture, ethnic studies, and the environmental humanities. He holds a BA in sociology from the University of Pennsylvania. For this project, Alexis assisted with the research and collection of media artifacts, the writing of item descriptions, and the design of the archive.
Greg McCollum
Greg is a first-year Masters student at the University of Michigan’s Master of Science in Information program. In 2018, he received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Ohio State University. His previous professional roles have involved digital organizing for LGBTQ+ justice organizations. Greg supported this archive project by assessing records for inclusion, web design, and metadata entry, especially in realtion to the Gay Liberator issues in the colledction. He is specializing in digitization and curation in the MSI program and has lived in Ann Arbor since 2019.
