Ben Miotke

Bio: Ben is currently a MSI-LAKES (Libraries, Archives, and Knowledge Environments in Society) student at University of Michigan School of Information after previously earning a BFA in critical media studies at Wayne State University in Midtown Detroit and an MFA in musicology at Tulane University in New Orleans. As one of the two group members who grew up in Metro Detroit, Ben was born at Henry Ford Hospital on W Grand Blvd in 1989, raised in Dearborn, and lived in Ferndale for three years before relocating to New Orleans for eight years and then moving to Ann Arbor in 2022. While in New Orleans, Ben started diving deep into anarchism through his involvement in the metal/hardcore record shop Sisters in Christ and subsequent appointment to running Rank & File Books, a successor to the Iron Rail infoshop inside Sisters. 

Contributions to this archive: Conceptualization of imagery-based archive of anarchist ephemera,  background research, literature review, online sourcing of digitized materials, in-person sourcing and partial processing of digitizable materials from UofM's Babyfish and Inglis collections, preliminary experiments in Omeka, writing and formatting most of the text for this archive.

Lindsey Rogers

Bio: Lindsey is currently a MSI-LAKES student at University of Michigan School of Information after previously earning a BFA in art history at Central Michigan University, specializing in pre-Raphaelite painting. One of two group members from the Detroit area, Lindsey grew up in Madison Heights. Lindsey presently works for the Clark Library and UM Law Library while living anarchism in part through her commitment to her co-op. Lindsey is among the majority of the group who are avid knitters.

Julia Ruedy

Bio: Julia is currently a MSI-LAKES student at University of Michigan School of Information after previously earning a baccalaureate degree in anthropology at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. One of two group members not from the Detroit area, Julia grew up in Carson City Nevada. She taught elementary school in Nevada and Oklahoma before relocating to Ann Arbor. She currently works at Hatcher Library and is, like most of the group, an avid knitter.

Naomi Yu

Bio: Naomi is currently a MSI-LAKES student at University of Michigan School of Information after previously earning a BFA in art at Washington University in St. Louis. One of two group members not from the Detroit area, Naomi did spend part of her early life in southwest Michigan but otherwise spent most of her youth in Albuquerque. Naomi currently works as a Graduate Assistant Cataloger at the Clements. Naomi is also one of the group's avid knitters.
