Know Your Rights
The choice to stand up for what you believe in is a heroic one, which might put your personal liberties in danger. During the Vietnam War era, many student protestors were arrested for draft card-related violations (Schreiber, 1973), though students found themselves in custody for any number of acts of civil disobedience (Mettler, 2017). These records were selected as evidence of these disobediences, and the planning therein. Students protesting the Vietnam War were highly aware of the risks involved in their actions and proudly accounted for those eventualities.
