SWANA American Diaspora
Arab Americans in the Automotive Industry
SWANA-Americans, more specifically Arab Americans, have had a long history involved in the roots and growth of the automotive industry. Many first-generation immigrants took roles as factory workers with recognizable car companies such as Ford, General Motors, or Chrysler in Detroit and other autombile instrument factories throughout the US.
SWANA American Cultural Influence
Khalil (Kahlil) Gibran was a fiercely influential poet that deeply inspired SWANA Americans and non-SWANA folks alike. His most famous work, The Prophet (1923), was produced into a movie by actress, Salma Hayek and served as a source of muse for modern poet, Rupi Kaur (Mitchell, 2023).
