On December 18, 2025, Michigan Public Service Commission approved a request from DTE Electric Co. of special contracts to supply power to the 1.4 gigawatt project. The project is part of an agreement between Oracle and OpenAI that will invest $500 billion into AI infrastructure across the US by 2030.
