Pinback button for SNCC's One Man One Vote campaign
-
Description
-
A pinback button for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). The top half of the button is black with white text, and the bottom half of the button is white with black text. The button says "One Man" on top and "One Vote" on the bottom.
In the 1960s, SNCC organized around voting rights equality as a response to white supremacist institutions restricting their rights to vote. The slogan "One Man, One Vote" was meant to draw attention to this injustice.
