NoKo: How to Quit the Coffee Habit This is an advertisement for NoKo, a coffee substitute produced by the Battle Creek Cereal Coffee Co. and served to patients and dinner guests at the Battle Creek Sanitarium. It purportedly offered the same appearance, taste, and smell of coffee without causing headaches, sleeplessness, and indigestion. The advertisement describes that NoKo was made from "a mixture of grains." One container of NoKo cost 25 cents. This advertisement appeared in the October 1, 1907 issue of Good Health, a health journal edited by J. H. Kellogg and published by Good Health Publishing Co. of Battle Creek, MI.
