This item set contains the annual reports from the University Committee on the Use and Care of Animals to OLAW/OPPR from 1995 to 2002. Within each of these reports the program changes, the semi-annual review notes and the minority reports are listed along with a description of members of the committee and a description and/or list of the facility inspections conducted. There is also occasionally correspondence that the letters have been received and the envelopes they were sent in.
Select papers from the "Biographical Materials" and "General Animal Research" folders of Professor Bennett J. Cohen. Cohen was a pioneer in the field of animal testing research. Trained as a veterinarian, he founded the ULAM (Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine) at the University of Michigan and authored the "Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals." His later-in-life animal research focused on aging with studies on improving wound healing rates of older mice.
